Race Day: Olly Golly (Wetherby)
Fair to say plenty has happened to the world since Olly Golly last saw a racetrack. A grand total of 619 days since the 8 year old's last run so to put in the performance he did was extremely pleasing.
It hasn't been the easiest of journeys with plenty of patience shown by his owners, Martin Redman and Maurice Thomas, he turned up fit and ready to run here, a testament to the trainer and will certainly come on for the run.
Took keen hold, chased winner, lost second when pushed along and outpaced before 3 out, rallied and went third inside final 110yds, kept on, no match for first two (op 50/1 tchd 100/1)
Racing prominent throughout under jockey Harry Bannister, he stayed on well to see out the trip well in a race that should hold up it's form well, the 10 length winner GLENCASSLEY (1/7F) another winner thrown up from the Grade 2 Aintree Bumper back in April.
After such a long lay off, we'll look at how he comes out of the race and look to plan in a return.
News: Storm Arcadio returns to the track at Fakenham on Friday.
