Laura Horsfall Racing: The Look Ahead

No entries but lots to take away from the week just gone. BAYLEY'S DREAM and his owner/rider Billy Aprahamian are both fine after a tumble at Stratford with everything just happening a bit too fast. He has now returned to Billy to train with the plan for them to go back pointing and try to add to his winning tally in that sphere.

Unfortunately HIT THE BOTTLE ran a very disappointing race at Wetherby, not really showing the zest she had at Fakenham. We have since decided to call it a day with her and she will be leaving the yard for pastures new this week. Sometimes horses can thrive from a change of scenery and routine so we hope that the new owners have some success with her.

We were very satisfied with LOVEYOUTOTHEMOON who ran a creditable race finishing fourth in a hot novice hurdle at Wetherby. We will assess what mark the handicapper now gives her before making a plan on where we go next. We know Bertha jumps a fence probably a lot better than a hurdle so the plan will be to send her back over fences.

A positive to take away is how much more chilled she is at the races and in the preliminaries she is very much a diva so we were delighted with how she behaved.

Wetherby also marked a day where we had a return of owners, we were so pleased that Martin and Lynn Redman and Maurice Thomas (Bertha's owners) could make the journey to be there and watch her run, I'm so pleased our owners are coming back to watch their horses, we wouldn’t be here without them so a big thank you to all of you.

We are putting the finishing touches to CESAR DU GOUET before a few entries the following week. On Sunday morning we took a couple for an away day to freshen them up, it’s always good to mix things up a bit especially with the older horses as it keeps them interested. The sun shone which made it a very pleasant morning.

For those of you that follow the yard you'll know that Tabitha Worsley rides quite a few of our horses, Tabitha has a ride in the Grand National next week, we wish her a safe ride round of jumping and will be cheering her on, check out the link to follow her story
