What a fantastic way to round off the first part of 2026!
There is nothing quite like the feeling of leading a winner back in and Jalisco Star’s superb victory at Chepstow gave the whole yard a real lift. To see her jump boldly, travel with confidence and then find plenty when it mattered most was incredibly rewarding. Winners are never taken for granted in this game, they are the result of months of early mornings, teamwork, patience and belief and this one meant a great deal to us all.
January and February can be testing months. The ground is often demanding, the weather unpredictable, and simply getting horses to the races in the right condition is an achievement in itself. I have been delighted with how the team have handled everything thrown at them, and with the consistency shown across the string.
From Lexie’s Moon’s brave efforts in tough conditions to Bobalot’s admirable reliability and the continued progress of our younger horses, there has been plenty to be pleased about.
