Laura Horsfall Racing: December Newsletter

What a way to wrap up the year!

December is always one of the most demanding months in the racing calendar, with the weather turning and the festive schedule in full swing, but the team and the horses have risen to the challenge brilliantly.

The absolute highlight of the month has to be Jalisco Star’s superb win at Uttoxeter. "Dolly" has been a model of consistency for the Racing Club, and seeing her power away by nine lengths in the mud was a real treat for us all. To see her back that up with a massive run to finish second at Fontwell on Boxing Day just proves what a tough, progressive mare she is.

We’ve also been delighted with Escort'kheops, who looks a real horse for the future. He hit the frame twice this month, showing a fantastic attitude at both Southwell and Catterick. He is maturing with every run and it won't be long before he finds himself in the winner’s enclosure.

Behind the scenes, the yard has been a hive of activity. I want to extend a huge thank you to my dedicated team who have worked tirelessly through the freezing mornings and the holiday period to ensure the horses are in peak condition.

Finally, a massive thank you to our owners. Your support is what drives this yard forward. We head into 2026 with a fantastic group of horses, from our seasoned campaigners to exciting young prospects like Lancier Des Obeaux and we can’t wait to see what the New Year brings.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!
